4 Week Shoulder Series
Tuesday, January 16th, 23rd, 30th & February 6th
5:30 - 7:00 pm
The shoulder joint is the most flexible joint in the body, so it requires a large amount of stability to perform its functions with ease. This 4 week series will focus on creating strength in the muscles that tend to be weak and releasing those that tend to be tight. Each week, we will explore different muscles necessary to stabilize the arm bone and shoulder blade in order to safely practice yoga. As well, for those who have shoulder issues, we will learn how to modify poses in order to get the most benefit from the poses. We will also use myofascial release on those muscles that tend to be tight and may hinder range of motion.
The 4 weeks will be broken down as follows:
January 16th - General Movement of the Shoulder & Breaking Down Chaturanga and Downward Dog
January 23rd - Exploring the Serratus, Rhomboids & Thoracic Mobility
January 30th - Exploring the Rotators of Arm; the Latissimus Dorsi, Infraspinatous & Subscapularis
February 6th - Releasing the Trapezius, Pectorals & Neck
Prepay by January 5th: $70 for the 4 weeks includes 4 - 1 1/2 hour classes, 25 minute yoga assessment and a pair of myofascial balls. (If you have balls the price is $70 for the series.)
After the 5th $80 for the series or Drop In: $15**
